How much is the cost of living?
« on: November 22, 2012, 12:00:42 PM »
If I wanted to rent a one-bedroom apartment, purchase weekly groceries and have Internet access, how much would it cost me?

We all know living in the north can be costly because of the paucity of access.  So I'm curious to know from first-hand experience and not government data.

After reading a few articles on it I stumbled upon prices such as anywhere from 3,000 a month to 7,000. I would have to say it would depend on the type of person you are and how frugal you are with your money. This is an extremely important factor in someone's daily life.

Wow that is expensive. I was in Whitehorse about 15 years ago, and I was absolutely stunned to pay 22$ for a not so big pizza.

Well I think the distance and cost of transportation adds to everything you buy but then they get some advantages in terms of tax deductions not available to others living in other parts of the country so it might not be so bad for them.
